I curated an exhibition comprising of local young artists, in which they produced work responding to a display of selected artefacts from the ACE funded ‘Breaking New Ground‘ Project (delivered by The Wilson Art Gallery & Museum and Spike Island). The aim of this project was to get the viewer to see historical objects and their stories in a fresh light and bring together modern creative techniques with traditional ones.
I co-ordinated matching a staff member from the museum with an artist to have a discussion about their holistic reaction to a chosen piece, which was then published in a zine which accompanied the exhibition.
There were artists working in a variety of different mediums, including poets, performance, musician, textile and painting.
The opening night of the exhibition ran as part of The Wilson Arts Collective takeover, so I programmed a performance alongside a number of different activities that evening.
